Horst Kordes, born in 1958 near Linz in Austria, is one of the best-known artists of Mixed Pop Art.
As the son of a housewife and a cook, his artistic talents were recognized and encouraged by his family at an early age. At the age of 16 he met Friedensreich Hundertwasser in Austria. The subsequent collaboration shaped and inspired Horst Kordes. After study trips through France, Italy and Germany, Horst Kordes found his artistic home in Düsseldorf.

Horst Korde's works are positioned between figuration and abstraction. Intellectual and spiritual creativity can be found in all of his works. For the artist, each color has a symbolic power that creates a magical bond between sender and receiver. Horst Kordes says about his studio: "The studio where I paint is the space of meditation and peace". His works, which are exhibited worldwide, show a dynamic of their own, in which the viewer discovers and reflects on himself.
